This Green Mountain &amp; Finger Lakes region was always my first pick for a vacation filled with greenery and peacefulness, as me and my family adored the destination and always holds a special place in our heart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This hidden gem in New York offers the most unique visuals of the natural beauty and some highly captivating experiences for the visitors, from hiking to camping, there is something for everyone. Now, let\u2019s take a look at the various immersive attractions and more of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finger Lake National Forest.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Synopsis of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finger Lakes National Forest, NY<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The one and only <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/main\/gmfl\/home\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">national forest of New York State<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is the western national forest reminiscent and connects more than 30 miles of trails flowing through\u00a0 ravines, gorges, woodlands and pastures. My most favorite part about the forest is its unique wildlife habitat, the gorgeous beauty of the surrounding and the various recreational activities out there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Situated between Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake, you can witness the many stunning views of the lake and the countryside. Oh and the wildlife, I was lucky enough to spot some white-tailed deer, wood ducks, Easter Wild Turkeys and some bobcats too. Moreover, in the 1400 acres of shrubland, there is so much for us visitors to set our sights upon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I visited the forest in the month of May and I believe the best time to visit the regions are from May to September as there are a wide array of outdoor pursuits available at that time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hikes in Finger Lakes National Forest<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every nature lover\u2019s favorite thing to do is taking a hike through the enchanting trails of the region. Lucky for you, there are some really captivating <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trails in Finger Lakes National Forest<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from easily achievable to somewhat difficult too. Anyone can be a part of hiking in the national forest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As I stated earlier, there are more than 30 miles of tranquil <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hiking trails in Finger Lakes National Forest<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and among them I\u2019ve picked a few as my favorites and the best. Here are some of them which will be ideal for your traversing through the forest:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Burnt Hill and Interlaken Trails<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the best hiking experiences I\u2019ve had, as much as the trail is easy to conquer, it takes around 1 hour and 30 mins to complete. The trial offers some really amazing views of the birds and wildlife which is the best part of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also bring your dogs for walking in the trails too but make sure to keep them on leash. The trail can be a bit challenging for beginners and it took almost 3 hours and 50 mins for me to complete the whole route. Finger Lakes Backbone Trail<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the greatest trails for birding, cross-country skiing and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hiking in Finger Lakes National Forest<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, also my top 3 trails of the region. The trail peaks during March till October and can be a bit packed in the number of visitors. The trail is located near Burdett in New York and is moderately challenging too. Rejoice as dispersed camping in finger lakes national forest is allowed which means you can go camping outside the designated areas, isn\u2019t that amazing?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, you may camp anywhere but the spot should be 50 feet away from the ponds, trails, streams and developed areas. Also, there are three developed campgrounds in the forest which are:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Backbone Horse Campground<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A cozy, small and semi-primitive campground in Finger Lakes forest which is located near to Burdett, NY. The campground is open all year for picnickers, backpackers, campers and travelers with horses. The campground provides a public restroom and picnic tables too. It is a small and semi-primitive campground featuring nine campsites and wheelchair access, public restrooms, picnic tables, walking trails, and parking lots. The campground is really secluded, well-spaced and even has a ton of tree shades. Potomac Group Campground\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My most favorite spot for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">camping in the Finger Lakes National Forest<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Potomac Group Campground, is a primitive group area for camping and can easily accommodate up to 45 people I would say. The adoring beauty of the forest from this spot is something so spectacular as me and my family loved it. You may witness the unique wildlife in the regions and even take snaps of them as it was among my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.holidaykeepers.com\/blogs\/top-family-activities-in-the-poconos\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">favorite family activities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I would usually finish my vacation with a peaceful and calming drive through the regions and I just love that sensation. I usually took the Interloken Trail Scenic Byway to view the rolling hills, forests and the vineyards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another pick would be the Seneca Lake Scenic Byway which takes you right through the stunning shores of Seneca Lake which gives mesmerizing views of the regions and some memorable experiences.
